How to Send a Thank You Note to Submitters

This guide will assist you with setting up automated thank you notes to submitters.

Step 1: Form Setup#

In order to send a thank you note to the person who filled out your form, make sure that you have a form field that asks for their email.

Step 2: Create an Email Action#

Create an Email Action and add your form's email field as variable in your Email Action's designated Email Addresses.

  • For example, if you have a form field named workEmail, you can send an email to that address by adding {{values.workEmail}} as row under Email Addresses.
  • You can also receive a copy of each thank you note by adding your own email address as another row.

Step 4: Customize the Thank You Email#

You can customize the contents of your Thank You email by choosing either the Rich Text or Raw HTML options under Content Format. Choosing Rich Text will let you use a WYSIWYG editor, while Raw HTML will let you send any HTML you want to. Both options rely on handlebars.

Step 3: Test your action#

Save the action, and send a test email to yourself. All set!
